How does Ruby Relay work?
You add a small JavaScript snippet to your website. When a visitor starts a chat, their messages are relayed to your Slack channel, Discord server, or WhatsApp in real time. You reply from those apps, and your response appears instantly on your website.
Do I need to install a separate app or dashboard?
Nope. That's the whole point. Ruby Relay works entirely through the messaging apps your team already uses. There's no separate dashboard to learn or log into.
What happens when my team is offline?
You can configure operating hours and a custom away message. When a customer messages outside those hours, they'll see your away message and can optionally leave their email for follow-up.
Is there a free trial?
Yes! Every plan comes with a 14-day free trial. No credit card required. You can try any tier and downgrade or cancel anytime.
Can multiple team members reply to the same conversation?
Absolutely. All plans include unlimited team members. In Slack and Discord, conversations appear as threads so multiple people can jump in without stepping on each other.
What does 'white-label' mean?
White-labeling removes the 'Powered by Ruby Relay' branding from the chat widget. It's available on the Team/Growth plan and above, letting you present the widget as a fully native part of your site.
Can I use Ruby Relay on multiple websites?
Yes. The Solo plan supports 1 domain, the Team plan supports 3, and the Agency plan supports unlimited domains. Each domain gets its own widget and can route to different channels.
How is this different from Intercom or Zendesk?
Those are full-blown support platforms with CRMs, ticketing, AI bots, and per-agent pricing. Ruby Relay is purpose-built for teams that just want live chat relayed to the tools they already use, at a fraction of the cost.
